Looking for: 13x13 full board endgame problems and books

I am already aware of the problems in Train like a Pro 1 and 2, Brilliant Endgame Plays (精妙收官) by Kweon Kap-yong, Weiqi Kyu and Dan Level Test (Beginner Level Test with 1000 questions) 围棋级。段位测试.

I'm essentially looking for a book like Brilliant Endgame Plays, but perhaps on an easier level. Does ...

Re: Etiquette for one of the guaranteed 50 lost games?

If you're playing and you feel you have no chance of winning, you probably aren't handicapping the game properly. Find someone closer to your rank, perhaps?

If you don't want to "waste" your opponents' time, play on a smaller board (13x13 is perfect for this). The games will take significantly ...

Re: Recent Purchase

I would say it almost certainly isn't kaya (I'm comparing it to my shin-kaya table board, hon-kaya and katsura floor boards, and it most resembles the katsura). It looks in really good condition, though. Do you mind if I ask how much you bought it for?

Re: The Four Common Sense Principles that Amateurs Can't Gra

Takemiya made a big point about "making good shape" in his commentary of a recent NHK TV tournament game. I'm paraphrasing, but he said that it is the player that plays the best shape throughout the game that will win, as it is "good shape" that is precisely what will yield points eventually. He ...

Re: Please recommend places to go play/buy baduk books in Se

Thanks, everyone, for the advice.

Other than the books on Tchan's blog, are there any other good Korean books that anyone particularly liked or would recommend?

Please recommend places to go play/buy baduk books in Seoul

I'll be going to Seoul in May, and was wondering if anyone can recommend some places to visit that are related to Baduk, places I could play, places that have a good selection of Baduk books, even good Korean book recommendations would be greatly appreciated, etc.

Any thoughts?

Re: Yi Sedol Famous Games Selection now in Japanese

I would keep checking back on Amazon as they get new shipments of the book from time to time, it seems.

And until you get a chance to read it, I offer up one more mini-essay entitled "The Way to Raise Go Strength":

The Way to Raise Go Strength

Recently, there are a variety of books are being ...

Re: Yi Sedol Famous Games Selection now in Japanese

Looks like it sold out. But here is an excerpt from one of his mini essays. I can only hope the others give a little more insight. (the commentary on his games is great, and really detatiled, however). Apologies in advance for the unpolished translation.

The most difficult part of Go

The Opening ...

Re: Yonro no Go - Igo puzzle

I just got the set. The difficulty of the final problems resemble that of mid-high kyu tesuji. In any case, I could solve them at a glance. The accompanying booklet is a really easy introduction to go rules, and also contains tidbits of culture at the bottom of each page. The set itself is nice ...

茶の味 (2004). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Taste_of_Tea

I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.

Can Go be the tesuji to capture your crush's heart?

This movie gives me hope that not all romantic conquests need to end up in (vacuous) love triangles.
