I really thought I posted this last night, but here it sits in the post editor... Anyway, a couple of these moves have already been talked about by my teammates but I'll leave my original comments from yesterday.
I was really expecting white to play a:

Re: Hello, new beginner here
Welcome back to the game!
I'd recommend joining the LifeIn19x19 and 'KGS Teaching Ladder' rooms on KGS, where you should be able to find friendly people who are more than willing to play a game with you, myself included. And don't let the occasional bad egg get your spirits down, there are plenty ...

Re: Teamovich 2

Both of the suggestions so far result in nice black walls, but they both face right at white's q15 stone while white's left group will be facing a wide open side, a bottom left corner that has yet to see a stone, and a top left corner that is still available for the taking with a move like d17 ...

Yup, I figured they might go for that corner next. It seems like they are going to want to develop along the top now. I hate to leave an empty corner, but maybe we should approach now, before they get a change to develop too much.

3 moves in and this game already rates about 9/10 on my bizarro meter.
I'm inclined to think a 4-4 play is inconsistent with tengen, since the idea of tengen is to fight but a 4-4 wants to build influence. Also white played an ...

Re: Teamovich 2
Good luck everyone!
I like SinK's suggestion of playing for influence. But tengen is a pretty bold play imho, and I'm not particularly comfortable with that. Still, it could make for one hell of a game if we can pull it off.

I'm fine leaving the teams and colors as is and getting this show on the road.
Best of luck to everyone involved!

Re: DDK Teamovitch
I'd be willing to participate as a soldier as well. I briefly flirted with 8k on KGS but I've since had quite a losing streak and am now 9k going full-speed towards DDK.

Re: September DDK Swiss
Thanks for the congratulations. I think the real win was getting to play with so many other great people. I notice that my playing frequency has slowed down a bit since the tournament ended, so if anyone is interested in setting up another group or league I think that'd be great. Or if you happen to ...

SinK and I played our round 2 games today. 2-0 for myself. SinK played great and we had two very interesting and fun games.

Re: September Tournament: 19x19 DDK
Just wanted to post my typical hours here in case someone wants to catch me to play a game. I live near Chicago, so that puts me in Central daylight time (UTC-5). I usually play in the evenings during the week, anywhere from 8-11 pm CDT. I play on the weekends as well at various times, but if you ...
