Re: Are their any place I can go to learn joseki?

I just remembered this channel. m

It's inactive, but it has a bunch of videos on joseki sequences and follow-ups that I think is exactly the sort of thing you're looking for. It shows how to punish misplays in joseki etc.

Of course, the best way would be Guo Juan's go school problem system. You ...

Re: My Crazy Stone Jubango

Thanks so much! The move in the lower left corner for example, where I could threaten W's corner never occurred to me at all. I really appreciate it! Would it be okay for me to transcribe these comments and variations to the gokibitz site too?

No problem! I was glad to help. Of course it's fine ...

White seems to be ahead. I don't see any super big point for black to spend his sente. So I'll take white.

Re: Leela has a new version

I was curious about Leela's new strength gain. It said only half a stone on the website, but what if you gave it more thinking time?
See the lightly commented game below between Crazystone and Leela 7.0, which I orchestrated out of curiosity. Modest hardware of 4 3.1GHz CPUs and a mid-range gaming ...

Re: www.ghost-go.com - Modern Tsumego practice - alpha

Well done! Like the site very much and it's been a while since I've done as many tsumego as I did the past two days here. I hope this project keeps going.

Where are the tsumegos sourced from?

Agree, I love the site. It's a well done project.
I'd like to second Satorian because I also just ...

New popular server foxwq and deepmind playing on it

Didn't know where to put this, but I've recently started playing on a new server @ m in my limited experience it seems like quite a nice server.
registration was fairly easy and requires the use of mobile authentication. Interface looks nice enough, m here is a video of hanayeol playing on the ...

Re: Go curriculum book series

no magic secret 'dan' principles and strategies to learn.

Maybe not magic, but of course there are many dan principles and strategies. I agree that there are only relatively few such books for dans.

I think the distinction I want to make is that anyone can memorize basic principles, strategies ...

Re: Go curriculum book series

If you're right Robert, then there's not much to read if you're between KGS 5k and 10k...

I think most published books are for around that range actually. It's hard to find ones for when you're stronger than that.

I think alot of the older but still gold(er) japanese books aim at 5k-1d as a ...

Re: Facebook Go AI DarkForest is open source now

If someone could make this available for use by laymen such as myself, it would be much appreciated. I'm not lazy, I'm willing to do some work, but I've got no clue how to go about getting this thing playable. I'm curious to play it and see how strong it is vs Leela and Crazystone for example.

Re: Leela has a new version

Well you're obviously doing it wrong. Use the gui that comes with leela, set amount of sims to unlimited and pick minimum 30 minutes (that way it thinks for about 24 sec max per move). You can adjust this during the game if you want it to think longer and thus be stronger, or think less. Then it ...
