Re: Pining for the original OGS, considering picking up go a

Active turn based can be tricky because we allow a variety of time controls but I do have some good metrics. Perhaps looking at the number of correspondence games started in a given month. iirc we define that as games that have an average move time of over 3600s (1 hour) calculated based on the time ...

Re: Pining for the original OGS, considering picking up go a

I'm very sorry to hear that, I'm one of the developers of the new OGS and we were originally the Nova developers. If you don't mind me asking, what did it lose that you miss so much? We're constantly working on the site fixing bugs and adding features that our users ask for. We try to be good ...

Re: Nova.gs Inaugural Tournaments

We've tried to strike a balance with handicaps in tournaments specifically so that you don't end up playing games with tons of stones.

Note that our pairing algorithm will try to pair players of even strength, especially in the first round.

Players with the same number of tournament points will ...

Nova.gs Inaugural Tournaments

Greetings!

We've been beta testing tournaments on the Nova.gs site for the last couple of months and it's finally time for us to share some with you.

We've created 3 site-wide correspondence tournaments to help kick things off, so there is plenty of competition for all skill levels:

That's no good, does refreshing the page fix that? What browser are you using?

Thought I'd post a few screen grabs.
