Re: Baduk and business
I don't claim to be a great business person but I will tell you a few things from go have definitely helped in my work life. The biggest is reading ahead, reading out the possibilities is very useful in business. Also thinking about how people are actually going to respond, not how you would like ...

Alphago, ESPN, and should you go for 2
Never thought I would click on a link on ESPN and be led to an article leading off with a Gu Li quote.

Re: Are there any left handed Go players?
I'm the opposite, I'm right handed but play left handed. I started this when I began recording my games on a palm pilot (then later an iPad) and felt constantly switching between the stones and the stylus was distracting.

Re: 3D printed clam shell stones?
I know that 3D-printers can handle calcium carbonate, which is the substance that make up most clamshells. It's also possible to 3D-print calcium phosphate, essentially teeth enamel.
I wonder if anyone has tried to 3D-print a clamshell Go stone? I'd imagine it'd be fairly easy to mimic the lines ...

Re: Go Games for Windows Laptops
I own all four of these programs.
Moyo go Studio hasn't been updated in years and doesn't have a play against the computer feature so I would cross this off the list.
Crazy stone has the best playing engine out of these if that is your main focus.
Both MFOG and smartgo are nice well rounded ...

I use iShowU HD and am pretty happy with it. I have used it to record go videos that I then transfer to my ipad for later viewing.

I don't remember how I went through it but I think either contact fights first of trading off between each level between the two is fine.

Re: Champion Go HD strength on various iPad models
In the server engine mode, can you also pause the game (i.e., close the iPad etc.) and resume at a later time?
Can you load a kifu and have the server continue to play from a certain point on?
You definitely can leave the app, turn off you device, and it will pick up right where you left off. I ...

Re: Champion Go HD strength on various iPad models
I have an iPad 3 and Champion Go HD plays fairly well (for my level). Now I am wondering how strong it is on newer iPad models. According to this benchmark site , the iPad Air has over 5x the performance of the iPad 3.
So I'm wondering how the playing levels of Champion Go HD are defined. For ...

Re: New Grand Rapids, MI Go Club
Good to see a go club again in GR. The current Kalamazoo club had some members with connections to the old one.
Funny how you are meeting at a D&W. We met at a D&W in Portage for years and still do when Western Michigan isn't in session. It is a decent playing environment but very little walk by ...

Re: Anyone from Michigan?
The Kalamazoo Go Club is alive and well (m). They meet on Thursday evenings from about 6-9 at Western Michigan University. Their online forums are also somewhat active.
