Re: Offering the chance to own a nice goban
Same questions as Krama. Also,
- What its age ? - I have no idea, but less than 5 would be my guess.
- Japanese made ? Korean made ?- Japan
- Slight dent upper right in side view; any other blemishes, scratches, damages ? - The 8 corners are not as "sharp" as it use to be, but nothing else ...

Offering the chance to own a nice goban
If you had the chance to scroll through the Go(Weiqi) players FB page, you'd see that I am advertising a hon-kaya goban for $240. It's a very nice board, however, there's only two days left from today (Jan 9th) for you to agree on whether or not you'd like it. Please let me know ASAP if you're ...

Baduk movies~
This is the link to English sub movie " The Divine Move ", The translation is a bit weird, but comprehensible.

I still can't find one for "The Stone" though.

Re: Regarding Gogameguru's boards.
Perhaps a go diagram is worth a thousand words. If you chop(!) the board in half and have a look at the cross-section the cheaper veneer/composite board will be like the top, the expensive one the bottom. White stones are the more expensive shin kaya wood, black the cheaper composite.

Regarding Gogameguru's boards.
So once again....I'm back...
I was looking through the GoGameGuru's ebay site when I stumbled upon two of their board. Both are shin-kaya multiple pieces but the price are a rather big difference. After asking David about the gist of it, apparently one of the board ($119) is "veneer"?! Honestly, I ...

Re: Board with engraved lines in UK/EU? Hebsacker-Verlag.de?
Ah,well. I personally don't care for that sort of trivial matter. I'm more of instant appearance like wood color and the like. It's a pretty good looking board. And if the shipping wasn't so high to USA, I would've taken it.

The notorious cheater, always moving his stone whilst I was not paying attention! Always the cutie, using his famous kitteh-eyes to coerce me into letting it slide.

Re: Shina Kaya vs Agathis (Color, Sound & Durability)
About the Agathis, while it may be a popular choices for Korean tournament, I don't think that there are many that "liked" it. Playing an agathis board is like a really thick piece of wood with what I would compare with lamination. The sound of agathis (at least for me and the board that I tried out ...

Re: Multiples vs Single piece(s) wood(s) go board
Single piece boards are better than multi-piece boards for both strength and durability. When buying a single piece there are a few things to consider.
1. Wood - Some woods are better than others. Kaya and Katsura are the two best followed by Hiba and Agathis. Shin-Kaya (Spruce) tends to warp more ...

Re: Multiples vs Single piece(s) wood(s) go board
Regarding the average weight, different kinds of wood can be substantially more or less dense than others. Which wood are you asking about?[/quote]
They're all some spruce related woods.
@gowan- well, I'm in Minnesota. So it flunctuate like crazy.
