If I were to quit it would be because
1. Price
2. Difficulty of Finding opponents
I recommend Alex halve the price and double the number of inses. Currently it is very difficult to find games outside European peak hours. Often there is not enough games on offer for review so its not like the lack ...

Re: there is something that smells in asian game.
I think I saw that game. What happened is that there was a double ko in a semei.
The Chinese team will definitely win the semai, but to prevent capture, the Koreans can play ko threats almost indefinitely. So what happened was that every second move, they would capture one of the ko's, forcing the ...

Re: How can we improve the League?
I agree with the sentiment. I am rather dissappointed that there was no lectures from Hajin last month, and the number of classes by Youngil was rather limited.
My incentive to saty in the league will certainly grow significantly with more pro lectures!

As a visiting New Zealander to Singapore for a year, I have to say that I am totally shocked by the decision. I was looking forward to seeing some of my new singapore friends participate in one of the first major international sporting events that features go.

Re: What's wrong with this league ?
I think the supergroup idea is definitely a step in the right direction, as haha mentioned. However, I feel it is a patchwork solution and may not address the core issue of the problem:
1. The % scoring systems makes top players avoid playing each other.
2. Top players will still avoid playing ...

Re: What's wrong with this league ?
I agree's with Ha's sentiments here, certain rules in A league needs to change if we wish to retain top players, and if we wish to encourage players to actually play their teaching games vs the teachers.
With the rules the way they currently are, it encourages players to actively avoid the teaching ...

Re: Proposal for a New Ranking System for Insei League
I like Topzag's idea, especially the bonus being depend on the strength of your opponents.
Something like this would certainly gives players incentives to play highly ranked players... something that is definitely lacking in the current system!

Proposal for a New Ranking System for Insei League
Ha, Danagabi and I have been discussing some of the flaws in the current ranking system, and thw two biggest points are probably the following
1. The current ranking system discourages players with higher win % to play games. For
Example:
If a player gets 12-0, he has 100% win.
If he wins to get ...
