Re: Lizzie 0.7

Are there tickets related to cleaning the code? That's the sort of thing I enjoy actually, but I don't want to go at it willy-nilly if you have something specific in mind.

Re: Zero Problem (a freeware)

Cool idea! Is the left column your move, and the right column the AI's suggestion?

Re: 9th Qionglong Cup

Goratings gives Hei Jiajia (3082) only about 1 in 6 odds to beat Choi Jeong (3359).
Oh Yujin (3249) gets about 3 in 5 to beat Oh Jeonga (3187).
It looks the tournament is Choi Jeong's to win.

I don't know what exactly JF would consider a foreigner, but he disapproves using "cookie" for "biscuit"...

Re: Random Ramblings

Couldn't the amount of time each player has left be a rough score-chart for go? The less time you've used, the more likely it is that you're winning. If only online go servers developed a way to accurately show the time left for each player in professional relays...

I think in general if players ...

Re: Why humans fail against AI

I loved this article , and I feel that it's highly relevant.

I read this one in the terrific short story collection Stories of Your Life and Others . One of the stories in that collection was the basis for the film Arrival . I really enjoyed that movie, but it's not even my favorite story in this ...

I haven't been following all the new corner strategies, is that sequence in the upper-left new? :b9: looks so strange.

Re: how to stop being tired

I set an alarm for 21:00 every evening. That's my cutoff for screen time, and a signal to start my evening routine.
I don't always follow it, but I do think it really helps. It's unrealistic to think you can go directly from watching bright and rapidly-shifting LEDs to sleep. If you can stand it ...

Re: The future of online go tournaments

Online university courses also have to worry about cheating. Some institutions are using proctoring software. You install a program on your computer before you take the exam that records your webcam, screen, and internet activity. The teacher can see your screen during the exam, as well as your face ...
