Re:
:b22: must be B2: basic life-and-death on the second line.
 isn't white at B2 at this point with :w17:? What am I missing? ( Not sure what you're asking in the first part of your question. )
If :b22: at B2, your B3 group can live; after White gets B2, your group dies.
The game move ...

Re: Please analyze my analysis of 9x9 game with dan-level pl
:b2: Your aim should be to take more than 50% of the board. So playing D5 is a more natural plan.
Oh that does look better than going on the star point. I guess my thought there was to have to force white to escape, but I do like this more.
:b10: It is natural just to play C2 here. D2 can be ...

Please analyze my analysis of 9x9 game with dan-level player
Played this 9x9 game with Janssensei on DGS who is rated 3d against 9x9 boards on DGS. I've commented the SGF with my own analysis of how I played (very, very badly) and was curious of any of you could help me see if I my analysis makes sense and if I missed anything. Thank you in advance!

Re:
:b50: Finally.
 of course you're right. I was already planning on making this connection when I placed :b46: so might as well just have done it then instead of risking that :white: would cut it.
:b56: Too small. Why do you care about that one :white: stone ?
Hmm. so my thinking here ...

Re: Critique how I make my decisions
Is this a computer program you are playing? If so I strongly recommend discontinuing its use as its moves are not good and will not teach you anything.
Yes. It's the window's version of Aya 6.34. I had two day long meetings this week so I whipped it out at work. At home I'm almost always playing ...

Critique how I make my decisions
So yesterday I posted a game and a question about scoring, and user EdLee very nicely critiqued my play. It was very useful and so I decided to keep notes of my next game. And while I was reviewing the notes, I thought I'd ask you guys to review this game and maybe also my thought process? I got ...

Re: I'm confused about scoring this match
Hi Hokie,
Welcome to Go. :)
:b6: good.
:b8: did you considering blocking at K17 ?
( When :w9: pushed at K17, you still replied. )
:b14: good. Now imagine if you had simply blocked at K17 on :b8: -- compare that result to this current result.
:b18: good.

Re: I'm confused about scoring this match
White won by 39.5 points.
I get a White win by 39.5. :)
Oh good! At least that now matches up with my corrected scoring.
* Note, if these groups had two eyes and were alive, they could stay on the board and not be dead.
Heh. I know it doesn't look like it, but I was aiming for two eyes with ...

Re: I'm confused about scoring this match
For the most part, at least. I still only get 136.5 for white so there's 3 points somewhere that I'm not seeing, but I realize my original errors now. Thank you!

Re: I'm confused about scoring this match
So then that's two points for each dead stone. That brings white's score to 103.5 and black's to 97 which is only a difference of 6.5 and not 42.5.... I must be missing something

I'm confused about scoring this match
Hi! I'm an avid board gamer that has finally learned to appreciate abstracts and decided to learn go once and for all. So far I'm finding it very rewarding and awesome.
So today I played a match against the Aya windows app running Aya 6.34 (I believe not MC). I lost, as usual... but this time I was ...
