Thanks for the tip on the second line invasion. I never saw these moves in lectures so did not know how to properly respond to them in the most punishing way.
Regarding the moves on the top left, I sort of get that the scoring is not impacted if we are placing stones one-to-one in that territory ...

I recently purchased the deluxe set from GGG.
The Shin Kaya board looks very nice, but I find it quite soft and easy to dent if you are not careful with it. I heard agathis board is harder, so it's probably easier to care for.

Thanks for the replies. Erythen was kind enough to send me some images of what to expect. The flaws do seem significant on some of the examples he showed. I will probably pass on them given they are still rather pricey.
