I also prefer the clean subsilver2.
When I first created this account I set the style to lifein19x19 but changed it back relatively quickly due to the noisiness of the design and more importantly a noticable increase in loading times.

Re: Swap colors in sgf
Well, that's a tad embarrassing :-? I simply assumed Drago would save the changes, but it appears to only be visual.
In that case I'm unfortunately not aware of any software that does what you want.
If worse comes to worst you can always use a text editor with a find-and-replace tool (ctrl + h in ...

Re: How would Go change if we used stone scoring?
Yes you don't have to, but the whole point is that you WANT to play inside your own territory as much as possible when using stone scoring. Only intersections with a stone on it count towards your score, eyespace doesn't.

Re: How would Go change if we used stone scoring?
Chinese rules use area scoring, not stone scoring.
As the name suggests, if you're playing with stone scoring only the stones you have on the board are counted and not the territory they surround. As a consequence play continues for as long as any player can play inside their territory without ...

Re: Crazy Stone Deep Learning first impressions
Yes. I assumed that playing at "2k" would use a basically fixed amount of compute and just take as long as it needed to do that much work. On my computer, it plays essentially instantaneously.
It just occurred to me that you might have misunderstood what I meant by "I'm curious how its strength ...

Re: Hajin Lee will play a live commented game against CrazyS
the commercial version of CrazyGo does not make this blunder in the same position - Remi (or somebody who already bought it), can you please clarify/confirm if that is the case?
I, too, was curious about this and had CrazyStone analyze the position after move 63 (right before the blunder). At ...

In the center :b85: threatens the cut at H-09, but in the end you never make that cut.
This cut is super obvious now but during the game it never even crossed my mind

Re: Tips for reviewing my own games
Thank you again for your time.
It's healthy to never assume the existence of a one-size-fit-all solution for anything ;-)
If one existed in the context of Go then surely this game wouldn't be as attractive a hobby/object of study.
I'm currently working through The Second Book of Go to improve my ...

Re: Tips for reviewing my own games
Thank you very much for your time and effort!
Would you say that my biggest problem right now is timid play? Not making bigger jumps for fear of being cut, not challenging white's group as Bill showed, being too busy protecting my cutting point to notice :b77: at H17 capturing the 2 white stones ...

Thank you for your responses. I will definitely try to identify the losing move from now on (for both me and my opponent in the case of a win).
@EdLee I can definitely see that pondering as a beginner has diminishing returns. Thanks for pointing it out. My most recent serious game is

Tips for reviewing my own games
Hi all,
I've picked up Go in the wake of the match between Lee Sedol and AlphaGo and have played some dozen games online since then. Initially I wouldn't give my finished games much thought but over the last couple days I experienced a growing desire to review my games on a real goban.
