Re: GoGameGuru

I'm glad they made the announcement and I'm very much in favour of people not doing what they're not enjoying. I hope David gets some more time to play Go in the future and enjoys spending time with his new baby.

Re: Completing a used stone set I bought

Maybe a wanted ad on this forum would come up with something - but you'd need to post some photos of the stones you have and where in the world you are.

Re: Is there a place to find pro videos with English subtitl

The best resouce is GoGameGuru 's baduktv service ... but GGG are currently not communicating online so might be going through a rough patch. If online subscription works they already have a huge number of subbed pro games - if you dont mind paying for it.

Edit: & theres a risk their BadukTv ...

Re: GoGameGuru

We could say this about any online business though, couldn't we? It's the price we've paid in response to the rock bottom price culture of online retailers, and that's where credit cards and disputes step in.

well I hope they come online again in the near future, say "sorry guys, we're back on ...

Re: GoGameGuru

I purchased my copy of Relentless on August 18th. This is right after the site came back up. I had no problems with shipment proceedings or delivery. They might not be responding to all inquiries at this time, but the business side of things seems to be running smoothly.

Has anyone had a different ...

Re: Truth, beauty and annihilation: my quest for chess maste

The book he's advertising is described in the Guardian online bookshop as "A doomed-to-fail attempt to become a grandmaster offers a wry take on both chess and midlife identity."

Maybe one for the Christmas list. btw the book he quotes, "Counterplay: an Athropologist at the Chessboard" is pretty ...

Re: What go set should I buy as a first set?

Yellow Mountain Imports (the company selling those items) have their own website & have been around in the Go business for ages. You might want to consider ordering directly from them for a bit of a saving.

e.g. http://www.ymimports.com/collections/go/products/yn-ts012-a

looks like a ...

Re: I want to develop software similar to Josekifarm

The best joseki software I've seen is http://www.dailyjoseki.com/ sadly the developer is no longer developing it but you should check it out - I believe the joseki are harvested from the GoGoD database (with their permission).

No legal way of avoiding postage and import tax, if the price is too high, maybe something from "go game guru" web shop would be good enough & a more acceptable price.

Re: How to Utilise Goban best, when you are alone

Im not sure a pro has any need for a Go board when they're on their own - at best perhaps for replaying games but Id have thought their visualisation skills are good enough for them just to read the game record. It seems a bit like having a fancy pair of football boots but noone to play with ...
