Re: Young Korean pro Kim Eunji banned for 1 year for AI chea

Cultural history and etiquette has nothing to do with cheating.

If you don't see the relationship here, I guess I just have to agree to disagree. I am not alone in the standard I hold for professionals - Yeonwoo, for example, also advocated that Kim Eunji not be pro anymore (as well as numerous ...

Re: 2020 Samsung Cup

Do the organizers have no protocols for these kinds of situations? Or is it something like the player is responsible for their own hardware, which does not fall under the organizer's responsibility?

What a shame for both players—I'm sure Ke Jie didn't want to win like that.

Re: The Reign of Ke Jie

I wouldn't say Shin is in a league of his own right now. It might appear that way based on gorating scores, but it's mainly due to Shin being a lot more active than Ke Jie this year and winning 8 out of 9 games against Park.

Well, I mean, that's kind of like saying his rating is really high only ...

Re: The Reign of Ke Jie

Ke Jie is off to a 5:0 start in this year's Chinese A League after beating Park Junghwan again. He and Shin are really separating themselves from the pack.

To be honest, it's Shin, Ke, and Park that are pulling away from the rest—the gap between any of those three players is greater than the gap ...

Re: Shin Jinseo

Shin Jinseo just won his 18th game in a row, against Yang Dingxin in the Chinese A League, meaning he hasn't lost a game in over 2 months. Pretty spectacular—he seems unbeatable right now.

Re: 24th LG cup

Pairing for round of 8;

Park Junghwan vs Peng Liao
Shin Jinseo vs Xu Jiayang
Kim Jieseok vs Tao Xinran
Ke Jie vs Chen Yaoye

Round of 8: 10/28/19
Round of 4: 10/30/19
Small correction— Peng Liyao and Kim Jiseok are mispelled.
Also, is the draw random or does the sponsor reseed after every round ...

Good move for publicity, although I can't say I agree with it.

After his recent strong showing in the Chinese A League and the IMSA Elite Mind Games, Ke Jie is on the top of the world again! Reign of Ke Jie, part 2 perhaps?

It is amazing - the development this year was exactly the same as two years ago.

Japanese player won the first game, followed by Fan Tingyu's 7 consecutive wins, followed by Park Junghwan's 2 wins...

Re: 23rd LG Cup

So LZ201 (with low playouts) thinks the 3-3 was fine (-<1%, q14 high approach another interesting idea, don't often see those, f12, r3 other choices), but that o3 approach was -5% and it was urgent to reduce:

I don't understand his style, but I find it really interesting to watch. Maybe the veteran can finally win his second international title against the young up-and-comer!

Re: The Reign of Ke Jie

Ke Jie just beat Park Junghwan in the opening game of the annual Chinese CCTV Cup, and it's one of the rare time between the two where black won. Ke looked to be trailing after the left side exchange, but Park played really conservatively after mid-game (move 150, 152, and 154 were especially ...

Re: World Go Championship 2019

I've just seen the full result. It was quite shocking that the complete Japanese squad of 20 players in the two common groups was wiped out.

This is statistically quite unlikely: assuming each of them having only a 10% chance to win against their generally stronger opponent, the possibility of ...

Re: 4th Bailing cup

Ke Jie just won by resignation to win the 4th Bailing cup.
Shin Jinseo started with a diagonal fuseki surprisingly, but unfortunately made a mistake in the early fighting and Ke Jie kept the lead for the rest of the game. Shin's drought continues!

Re: 12k asking for a review!

Just one quick comment.
:black:117 is a big mistake, and you didn't have to connect. Instead, White could have cut on the second line for a large reduction. Black can't cut at S14, because after White captures, Black descends, and White fills in, White has 3 liberties vs. Black's 2 liberties.
