How black is doing?
Game is still running on DGS so I don't want any advice for moves, just want to know how black is doing after joban/opening moves?
Both black and white are in 15-17 kyu range. It is a two stone handicap game. Position after black 70 at D5 is shown below.
Let's make it simple, what would you give ...

Re: Best move for black?
Hi everyone,
I finally got O14 working because my opponent played at R11. Because I didn't play at R12 my opponent may live on the right but I have a strong chance of building moyo in center.
I am still bit behind in the territory but I like my position now. If I can secure couple of more stones ...

Re: Best move for black?
BTW, your comment made me wonder how P-11 got there. It looks like there are too many Black stones or not enough White stones on the board, for an even game. What was the actual position? :)
It is an even game still running. No handicap stones, 6.5 Komi. In fact there are more white stones on ...

Re: Best move for black?
Bill,
O16 and O15 are both targeted at influence while I don't have any territory at all. Isn't that too risky? There is not much territory in the center, right?

Re: Best move for black?
Thanks for the replies.
P14 I don't like because it is contact play, right? I was studying few takemiya Masaki games and his large moyo ideas but this game started with avalanche joseki and since than I tried to keep my preference to territory rather unsuccessfully as you can see.
C I found too ...

Best move for black?
Following position is from a game that I am playing on DGS right now. After considering moves A B C and D as shown in fig. I preferred B. Is that a right choice? Are there any other moves apart from these four that are better in current position?

Re: semeai missed
Thank you, it was very nice. Viewed it on gridmaster and it was clear and eye-friendly. Still bit of an exercise for me after move 105 but it was not very difficult.
Is this kind of thing happen often in top level play or this was an exception case?
Should, as a 15 kyu, I study Pro games? This was ...

Re: semeai missed
It is different from the game position, how to make move 16 from solution is unclear to me. I am DDK and on a mobile device so if someone can provide a solution in SGF it would be very helpful to me.HermanHiddema wrote:See forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3798

semeai missed
I have heard an interesting story about following game. Black tenuki in a winning position and white won semeai instead. Move 93-94.
It was a game between two strongest players of their time and yet both of them missed it. Later 4-dan scorer pointed it out to both of them.

@EdLee
Yes, I probably could have seen it without Q10 but some other stone in vicinity of R9. This subtle differences might make a big difference in the long run. It was local, not sure with or without Q10.

@Uberdude
Yes, you are right. It was kind of an experimental move, even knowing that it is against all Go commansense. I don't know why I thought for a while and made that counterintuitive move knowing fully well it might not work well.
This probably happened because I was unable to decide whether ...

Re: Game review request (IGS 17K)
Board should atleast have portrait/landscape option. Portrait style with larger controls at bottom could solve lot of troubles related to mobile devices. Ergonomically designed board can save lot of left/right scroll as well as taps, and eventually Emacs pinky type of diseases.

Re: Game review request (IGS 17K)
:b59: gives you bad shape because :w60: crossed your keima N14-O16.
Yes I know about keima cut, have read about it before. Problem is, it is more difficult to apply these ideas in practical games. Like Go most of these ideas are also abstract, so some of them are understood better only by playing ...
