Heidelberg go club?
I will be in Heidelberg, Germany for the next 3 weeks. Does anyone know of an active go club here or want to play? I don't speak German unfortunately.

Re: Location, location, location.
About 6 months ago I walked into that coffee bean and randomly spotted Ed's club. They were very welcoming, and I played a couple games. Thanks for that!

Re: Pro Commentaries
I have a book called "Master Play" by Yuan Zhou that might be what you're looking for. It has commentated games from 7 different historical top pro players. I find it easy to understand. Yuan Zhou also has some other books of this nature I don't own.
Here's the link to the book: http://www.slateandshell.com/SSYY014.html

Re: Banned.. for letting friends use computer
I agree that KGS admins can go overboard with the moderation and periodically make big deals out of nothing.

Re: Robert Terry on "Why Go has Failed to Prosper in the US"
It has been observed more than a few times that when "the go organizers" recieve any kind of criticism, constructive or otherwise, they immediately act as if they are being personally attacked. Most times, the only people who are well recieved are the ones who are blind to "the go organizers ...

Re: Robert Terry on "Why Go has Failed to Prosper in the US"
Mr Terry kicks the AGA instead of giving constructive criticism. He is doing more to hurt Go than help it with these articles. If he wants to help promote Go, he should be telling us his opinions on what can be done better and how.

Re: Robert Terry on "Why Go has Failed to Prosper in the US"
In this article we read 7 paragraphs about drama critics in New York. Those paragraphs have almost no connection to go. The author then tells us that drama critics, like go organizers, are failures at life.
Gotta say, I didn't really find this to be a very enlightening read.

Re: First Joseki Book
I agree with Gorim in that a book on opening strategy would probably be far more worthwhile than a Joseki book for overall game improvement. Memorizing the very common basic josekis will be helpful, but there is little point in studying the more complicated variations at your stage. A book on the ...

Re: AGA losses in 2011 Congress
The loss seems to me to have been explained well enough.
More concerning to me is the lack of follow through. The e-journal reported a loss and promised a follow up response. Instead the board decided that it had "blown over".
A loss is not a big deal, it happens. But when the e-journal reports ...

Is my understanding below correct?
Request:
Better lag-handling protocol on KGS because it's frustrating to lose games due to lag that cannot be controlled by player

It's not the fault of KGS
Trace flow of data over internet
