If we are weaker: extend - if we are stronger: hane

Hi!

I found a video with some game analysis by Yilun Yang 7p from the american Go congress 2019 where he uses the words (Video 17:07 min) like above: "If we are weaker: extend - if we are stronger: hane", witch sounds very logical to me. Unfortunately some minutes later (22:30 at the video) he said ...

Easy Setup Positions with Black or White to move

I´m looking for a tool to setup positions with black or white to move. Im using the Chrome Web Go App, because in most cases its very handy, but I cannot find a way to setup a position with White to move.

Database software for joseki learning

I do not want to learn 100 or more Josekis, but only a few, and understand them, and repeat them from time to time.
Is there a software with which you can save a limited, slowly growing number of learned Josekis for your own training purposes?

Re: Weak engine to play against for Sabaki

Depending on your strength, you might want to use one of the settings below, using either zen 7, zen 6, or katago.
zen7 17k -t1 -r3 -s200 -n0 -o4.0 -p0.2

zen7 16k -t1 -r3 -s200 -n0 -o3.0 -p0.25

zen7 15k -t1 -r3 -s300 -n0 -o2.4 -p0.3

zen7 14k -t1 -r3 -s300 -n0 -o2.2 -p0.3

zen6 13k -z6 -r3 -t1 ...

Re: About Capturing Races

In his book Richard Hunter speaks about "weak eyes". Eyes that have less liberties as it seems, but there is not so much explanation about this. As far as I can see those eyes are mainly in the corner, where its most easy for the attacker of the eye to create a eye within the eye.
Is there any ...

Re: About Capturing Races

In chess, where I have almost 2300 Elo, it is a great advantage to get a hint about your prospects in a complicated position. That is why, for example, smartphones are banned in tournament halls. When God tells me: "Matthias, your position is better". Calculate correctly and you will win". Then this ...

About Capturing Races

It's about Capturing Races. Do good Go players today rather use the counting method of Richard Hunter from his book "Counting Liberties and Winning Capturing Races", or do they read 10 - 15 moves deep variants each time?
I tend to get used to Richard Hunter's method from the beginning.
What do you ...

Weak Leela

I've discovered quite an interesting way to limit the playing strength of Leela 0.11.0 that I would like to share with you. I don't know the exact playing strength of Leela 0.11.0, but I think the program should be quite strong. So it finds the famous 37th move of the 2nd game between LeeSedol and ...
