I'm not even sure I can read 1 move ahead, but there are players who can read 100 moves ahead.


I don't remember where I read that your number of dans is the number of moves you can read properly.

And if you are a kyu, your number of kyus is the number of mistakes you make before reading ...

The fatest is to know the following by heart : 1.414213562373, if I'm not mistaken

Emeraldemon idea seems fine. Since b^2 is of order 10^18, we should be able not to take it into account in the calcul and just solve 2ab = 2 - a^2.

The best RPG I ever played is with no doubt Phantasy Star 2. It's an old one now, old graphics, old battle system, but its story is certainly still among the best one. I'd really like the PS2 remix to be translated.

I'm currently reading Axiomatic by Greg Egan, which is a really good SF novels book, and deals with some of ideas expressed here. Just an advertising for a great book.

I tried to install a more recent version of cgoban3. I downloaded m, but it seems to be version 3.4.5, which is obsolete (I have an error message when trying to connect to KGS).
