Next to playing Go I also love programming, which is why I want to start developing the Ultimate Go app. In order to do that I need some inspiration on features that people are looking for that current Go-apps do not offer. I'm planning on using Django (DRF) for my back-end and React for my front-end (paired with WGO.js module), everything will be free to use once it is done :).

In sum, i'd like to ask the community what does your ultimate Go app look like?

kgs has several attributes that i like.
near any board size, several time control options,
you create the game and wait for someone interested ,
teaching mode, lessons by pros, rengo,
i cant think of much that kgs lacks.

Hi,
For the time being, Igowin is the only app that can play at a true beginner level, and improve its strength according to the results of the user.
A very good way of "loosing one's first 100 games".
Other AI like Gnugo or Crazy Stone are too strong for beginners.

Besides that, I can't tell much since I'm on Linux, and nearly no go software can run on Linux. So I'm not aware of all the features already proposed by Leela Zero, Katago, Sabaki etc.

Maybe my app should focus more on learning rather than playing? I was thinking about a spaced repetition tsumego/pattern app with a competitive element, like ladders or reading rank estimation.

I miss a kifu-APP with the two following features:

1. an easy command for correct position of the stones just (mis)placed
that's all important when you are using a mobile phone in a pub

2. the registration of time in the kifu
so that in the review phase one's can check his time management
e.g. the moves that required more time
the timing of best/worst moves

One lichess feature that stands out is "review your mistakes." After running a computer analysis of your game, you can look at places in the game where you lost ground and try to make a better move and the computer will tell you if your choice is better or not. In other words, make computer analysis as practical and easy to use as possible.
