I don't speak Korean, but every time that I try to log in it says connection failed. I have tried this with various computers but I get the same message. Did something happen to the server? Is there a way for me to connect? For those of you that don't know what Batoo is, it is a variant of Go played in an 11x11 board with 1 Hidden Stone. HELP HELP HELP. I just want to know what is happening!

Is it gone for good? The novelty wore off and people stopped playing it?

So the company announced that service has been ended forever? Is this just temporary?

They announced that Batoo service will be stopped at the beginning of November. It does not seem to be temporary.

NOOOOO!!!! I never played a single game of Batoo online, and now I will never have the possibility any more! Let's hope that there will be amateurs setting up a server in the future, so that I, too, can play some games online one day!

That should be the perfect opportunity to switch to the real game.

OTOH there is a go server specialising on variants, maybe you can get them to offer batoo as well.

I do play Go regularly. Its just that Go takes such a long time to play, and sometimes you want to play something fast and furious. In Batoo once the game started, it head to head combat for base stones and influence. O well...

If it is about rapidity this may not help, but if it is about the ruleset you may consider wishing for it here: http://www.basiliskgo.com - but it is turn-based afaik. Also you can still play it at your local club, but you will need a third person then.
