What is the most memorable game of Go you've played? I'm talking about a game you played that you could, now and probably for the rest of your life, replay from start to end. A game you've reviewed and shown to countless players. A game you'd want to put on your tombstone (probably one you've won).

Maybe it was memorable because of the game itself; your first and only triple ko, a dragon kill that could never be matched, a massive comeback. Or maybe it was because of the time and effort you put into that game; a game you spent months playing over by e-mail or by a turn-based server, a game that lasted for hours in a big tournament, a game you won over someone many stones stronger than you under-handicapped or not. Or maybe it was because of the person you played. There are many ways a game could be memorable, so here's a thread where you can post some of your most memorable games and explain why it was so memorable to you.

As for myself?
I don't have one. Yet.

Most will look at this game and shrug, saying there is nothing out of the ordinary with it except a game with a lot of flaws. But when I think back to the moment I played this game, it meant so much more than that. It was an incredible game. I don't think I'd played a 4k or stronger before at that point in time, and I was just a 15k. I had never gone into a game with that much excitement or as much nerves as I did going into that game. It's just one of those moments that wakes you up to why you play the game in the first place. And I seem to be saying the game a lot. (Random thought.)

Regardless, I should have lost this one big time, but I think it exemplifies life in a lot of ways. You make countless mistakes, you battle people who are/should be superior to you, and yet still figure out a way to win. Guess you could call it a common theme where I live. :D

Like I said, it's nothing visually impressive, but it's the game that immediately came to mind. That massive capture at the end left me dumbfounded, to be honest!

The guy who taught me to play go also "loaned" me his copy of Appreciating Famous Games. (John Harriman, if you want your book back, I still have it.) When I was ~10k, I decided to memorize some Shusaku games. AFG has a game between Shuwa and Shusaku, called in the book "The Autumn Leaves Were Falling," and for no particular reason, I started with that one. Move 51 stunned me.
Hikaru fanatics may recognize that game as the first time Akira unknowingly goes up against Sai. When I was reading the book, Hikaru no Go was still in the future. http://youtu.be/16y31rW1Sts?t=1m40s

Later, Akira freaks out when he sees Black 75. http://youtu.be/16y31rW1Sts?t=3m20s

Later on, in one of my games at the 2002 Canadian Open, I saw a way to connect two groups that I recognized from this same Shuwa-Shusaku game. I think I was playing as ~8k, and I had to give a handicap -- probably too much of a handicap, since even though I saved my stones, I lost the game.

There are lots of other games I remember for one reason or another, but all in all, I guess that Shuwa-Shusaku game is the most memorable for me so far.
