I am interested in a book on extensions and invasions on the side. For example the third line two space group, the third and fourth line large Knights jump, the third and forth line three space jump etc. I have seen these materials covered briefly in other texts such as "Shape Up", however it seems like a large enough topic that it could take at least a whole book if not an encyclopedia to cover. There is quite some literature on corner development so hopefully that won't be discussed in this thread. |

I've been wanting this for a while, too. These sequences are just as common and standard as corner joseki, but I can't find any literature on them. |

Some of these sequences are covered in Attack and Defense at the end. |

I'm pretty certain reducing territorial frameworks (Shuko) covers a few of these. And sensei's has a lot of the basic ones. |

General advice on extensions is given in Joseki 1 Fundamentals. Tactics of extensions and invasions you find in every joseki dictionary. If you are looking for invasions in the middle game, then read books on invasions (and reductions). (Attack and Defense can be bought for various reasons but its 3-space extension chapter is its worst part.) |

There is good coverage of these topics in Yilun Yang's "Fundamental Principles of Go". |

And there's always "Get Strong at Invading" Quote: After the players have mapped out their spheres of influence in the opening, invading these areas is a basic technique of the middle game. Here are 171 problems systematically covering the standard invasions on the side and the corners, attacking corner enclosures, and erasing large territorial frameworks.

So, yeah primarily side techniques. |

I have been thinking about this a little, and maybe if I rephrase my question as, "Are there any good books on the Mini-chinese or kobayashi fuseki's?" I think these would cover the types of techniques I am interested in studying. |

It's not a book, but recently I came across a website called Go Library which, among other things, offers "some large-scale variations for several popular go openings" including both the mini-chinese and the Kobayashi. You might find it interesting. |

I have that and remember it covering the three space side extension (and by that I also mean the large knight's, etc) invasions pretty thoroughly. It's a problem only book though, so no theory there, if you are looking for that. |

"Play more games against stronger players - you will learn all you ever wanted" - I think it is a correct title of the book... And the volme two: "Invade, die, invade, die, invade, live, voila!" |

The lectures by Mingjiu Jiang in the series All about Invasion on Guo Juan's Internet School cover this in detail. |
