If you already know your rank telling us might help, for complete beginners I'd say start with: Graded Go problems vol. 1 + 2 They are not all life and death problems, but cover a wide range of problems if that helps you =) |

Sure: The Graded Go Problems for Beginners series by Kano Yoshinori. There are 4 books, and they offer problems for all aspects of the game. The first volume might seem pretty easy, but it offers a good introduction to lots of basic ideas. |

Once you get good at basic L&D and go forwards in your journey, tsumego.tasuki.org is an indispensible resource. Also graded go problems for beginners is a great book; I was reccomended it at like 25k but only went theough it at around 12k. The book took me like 30 minutes total and I made some stupid mistakes for not thinking, but man I wish I knew all of that when it was reccomended to me. |

Cho Chikun’s "Encyclopedia of Life and Death" is also a good resource. |

Some people have good suggestions, I second the suggestion of ggpfb. But I couldn't resist adding that when I first saw the thread title, my first thought was it isn't life _or_ death but life _and_ death. But my second thought was actually your way makes more sense, since things can only be alive or dead, not both. |
