I have been playing Go spasmodically for around 4yrs, sometimes playing frequently and at other times not playing for weeks/months. Like many i`m a chessplayer who can play Go but i`ve never really applied myself, and as a consequence of being a spasmodic player have probably picked up a lot of bad habits. As i`m finding chess less of a challenge and Go more so, i`d like to apply myself a little more seriously to improving, and despite being the wrong side of 50yrs I don`t think achieving 10kyu is an unreasonable target to set myself ( i`m around 14kyu on KGS ) Any advice as to how I can eliminate ( or at least reduce ) some of the bad habits i`ve almost certainly acquired over the past 4 yrs or just gneral suggestions would be very much appreciated! ![]() |

Then you work hard to fix them, one by one. No other way. ![]() You can also post your serious games here on L19, and get a sample of the freebie feedback. ![]() |

There's a beginner page on sensei's library (itself a great go wiki, if you've never seen it). It will have lots of good links, including a few links to life and death problems. |
