I'm obviously not a beginner, but an idea struck me. I think I'm at a level to where I could teach someone say.....16k-30k quite a bit. So, since I'm not having any luck with my other ventures(Running tournaments, ect.), I thought that it would be great for me to help players 16k-30k.

When I was a beginner, I had a lot of people help me to improve. But I never really had a single teacher for any length of time. And that's exactly what I'm willing to offer. Perhaps we could have group sessions where we study tsumego, or I could play teaching games, and things like that.

So, if you're a beginner who likes the idea of having an 8k teach you, feel free to message me. My schedule is very flexible, so I can probably set aside time for whenever you're available.

I offer things like this because I'd really like to give back to the community that has helped me so much in some way.

That's quite an offer. My time tends to be a bit limited, but I'd love to take you up on your offer. It sounds like a great opportunity. Late evenings tend to be best for me, by late I mean about 10:00 EST or later. If you can't manage that, don't worry about it. My scheduling can be a little crazy :D

Thanks and God bless,
Adam

Thanks again,

Very well. We can begin tomorrow, if you want. I would offer today but I'm experiencing troubles with my personal computer at the moment, but should be fixed by tomorrow.

Sounds good to me. If you need/desire/are able, I have a Teamspeak server which I own. I don't mind if we (you myself, and whoever else may join in) use it for this purpose. I have two requests if we do so. 1) No profanity, 2) Only use it during the designated times, I use it as a place for meetings of various sorts at various times. Also, the access info I expect to be kept confident.

Thanks and God bless,
Adam

I have no idea what that is to be honest. But if it involves a mic, I can't participate there lol. No mic.

Yes, it does require a mic. Just figured I'd offer since text communication can be tedious at times.

They don't have to be anything special, I have gone through one and am on my second. The only reason the first one died was several occasions when I forgot I had it on and tried to leave the computer. I finally messed up the cord badly. Other than that a cheap one will do fine for voice chat.

I know. I could probably find one like that really cheap at a thrift store or something like that. I'll definitely keep my eye out for one since it seems like it will make communicating easier.

If all else fails, Skype is popular for those who wish to discuss verbally.

You still need a mic for Skype, right?

don't know what type of computer you're using, but most laptops come with mics already these days

Hi, I'm kinda interested in doing these sessions! Hope I can keep up ;)

P.S. I was hit in the head with a desktop PC once... so now I'm a notebook user. At least until I've overcome my fear of desktops :D

Ouch, that doesn't sound fun. I had one fall on my foot once. That wasn't fun either. <<

And that would make 2 of you. I figure group sessions on the days both of you are available would be fine with me. As for the start time, both of you just feel free to let me know when you'd like to start and we can work from there.

A ten-o-clock start on the days mentioned would work best for me. But that's only half of things. ACGalaga, what's best for you?

How does 9 PM EST sound as a start time? And would both of you still like to begin today or begin another day?

I haven't had any time to plan anything, so it would all be pretty on the fly this time. But I figure I can gather some things up between now and tomorrow.

Either way is fine with me, of course. I'm just trying to help! And I'd like to find a time that fits everyone who has expressed interest best so we can do this in a group session since I think that will be more informative.

So, feel free to tell me what y'all think.
