Dumb question of the month. I have Leela on my PC. Can someone explain how I take my .sgf file and use her to analyze my moves...and my opponents?? How do I tell her to analyze, not play. No laughter pls!

If you're talking about Leela Zero, there is two (major) options :

Option 1 : Lizzie

https://github.com/featurecat/lizzie

Option 2 : Go Review Partner

https://github.com/pnprog/goreviewpartner

Personally, I prefer lizzie to review my own games, because it's more interactive

If you're talking about Leela 11, you can still use Go Review Partner (but not lizzie)

If you want to use the leela interface to do it move by move then press F2 and open analysis window.

Funny you should mention that, I saw Nick Sibicky using Leela/Lizzie in his recent videos so I started playing around with it last weekend. Took me a bit of time to figure out, but here are the steps for getting it set up.

Quote:
Copy (Ctrl+C) the text of the SGF and paste (Ctrl+V) it into the Lizzie interface. (Note, you may want to hit spacebar in Lizzie to disable calculations before you paste. I've found this speeds up the copy operation. After copying, hit spacebar again to restart calculations).

Just press o in Lizzie and choose your sgf in the windows that open.

Well, that's a whole lot simpler. I don't know how I missed it. Thanks for the tip!

How exactly does one learn from this program? I've attempted to have my games analyzed as well by Lizzie but what am I supposed to take away from her analysis?

LZ is like a top pro player that can just say how bad/good the moves were, and what he would have played (and show you the sequences).

So, you replay your game, and when LZ dislike a move, you look at other sequences LZ would have played, and you can often learn something (and if you don't understand why LZ dislike a move/sequence, it's not that important, just being exposed to really strong moves is already good)

And don't forget, no need to learn something about all of your mistakes, just a couple per game is fine
