Why seven players instead of eight? Seems odd...

Seven players compete in a three-round knockout. The winners and runners-up of the quickplay cups sponsored by the broadcasters in the three respective countries are joined by the winner of the previous event. The latter also enjoys a bye to the semi-finals. This format allows the three Round 1 matches to be Japan-China, Japan-Korea and China-Korea games.

Thanks for keeping us updated trout, I did not know this tournament was going on now.

I've been following the Liao vs. Park on Wbaduk, Park just won by resignation. For the moment Korea rules, it seems.

I'm not sure I understand the end of the Lee-Ida game. Why did black play 145 and let his corner group die, reading mistake under time pressure?

Here are the games so far (transcribed from Wbaduk, I hope I did not make any mistakes):

The final game, seems quite a smooth and thick victory for Lee, did Park really not expect Lee to resist the bottom right attachment? Or the r9 o14 combo was sufficient compensation?
