Hi everyone, I am currently developing a Go game for PC and wanted to include some pro games for people to review with a guess next move feature. Based on Rémis historical world ranking of players I thought I would include games from the following players. Lee Sedol Lee Changho Yoo Changhyuk Kobayashi Koichi Cho Chikun Nie Weiping Cho Hunhyun Otake Hideo Gu Li Kato Masao Kong Jie Shi Yue Park Junghwan Ke Jie This goes back to 1980, anyone I have totally missed or should remove? Also hoping to find suggestions for games to include for each player that shows of their style in a good way. I am looking for 8-10 games/player. I am not a strong player myself so any suggestions would be appreciated. WIP look of the game and guess next move mode can be viewed here if interested. https://twitter.com/apgamesdev/status/777218799493844992 |

that's cool. that list looks good to me. Takemiya Masaki's cosmic style is famous and very popular with amateurs. You might also want to consider Shusaku and Huang Longshi for "ancient" games. |

Thanks for the suggestions, Takemiya Masaki is a great one. Very specific style that differs from the rest. Maybe also Go Seigen for older games? |

It would be good to include games older than 1980 by players with classical "natural" style, such as Takagawa Kaku or Honinbo Shuei (in addition to already-mentioned Honinbo Shusaku). The "natural" game style seems to be especially well suited for a guess-next-move type of training. You can also get an inspiration from game selections in various existing books such as Appreciating Famous Games. |

The project sounds nice ![]() anpd wrote: Thanks for the suggestions, Takemiya Masaki is a great one. Very specific style that differs from the rest. Maybe also Go Seigen for older games? If you're going with older players too, yes Go Seigen is one of the most important player, you can't forget it ^^. In addition to your initial liste, I would suggest Chang Hao and Seo Bongsoo as possible candidates. |

there are many games too choose from, it's hard to say, but gogameguru's commented games have some very good choices. Their Lee Sedol choices are great, and I highly recommend his game with Choi Cheolhan 2013 Myeongin final game 5. |

Have you seen this thread? Logan included professional game collections, and was kind enough to mark some of the particularly significant games for each player. It's a wonderful resource. |

Sounds like a good idea to check out, have been checking semi random games but hard to find good games. This will give me some ideas. jeromie wrote: Have you seen this thread? Will help me a lot! Thanks ![]() |
