The 16th Changqi Cup is currently underway. It is a tournament organized by the Ing Foundation so the Ing rules are applied in this tournament. (It is famous by the concept time equivalents to points under Ing rules, you can trade 2 points for additional 20 minutes thinking time (twice opportunities) when the main time 3 hours are finished and no byo-yomi). The semi finals of this tournament will be held in the same time and location with the World Collegiate Championship during summer and this year will go to Sydney Australia. I went to the one in Toronto 3 years ago and had a chance to watch Changqi Cup. I also played a 2-stone game with Lian Xiao, who said my fighting and reading skills were not bad after the game.

The results of the prelims can be referred to https://gotoeveryone.k2ss.info/cn/cc/16

The first round of the main tournament is now broadcasting:

Liao Yuanhe Vs Xia Chenkun (Winner of this bracket will play Mi Yuting, last year winner)
Xie Erhao Vs Tu Xiaoyu
Yang Dingxin Vs Tang Weixing
Ke Jie Vs Yu Zhiying
Li Qincheng Vs Fan Yin
Fan Yunruo Vs Zhao Chenyu
Lian Xiao Vs Xu Jiayang
Shi Yue Vs Chen Xian
Tong Mengcheng Vs Xu Haohong (qualified from Taipei)
Jiang Weijie Vs Hu Yaoyu
Gu Zihao Vs Xie Ke
Fan Tingyu Vs Li Weiqing
Zhou Ruiyang Vs Hu Yuefeng
Chen Yaoye Vs Tan Xiao (Winner of this bracket will play Tuo Jiaxi, last year run-up)

Some games that we can follow:

Ke Jie Vs Yu Zhiying: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/room/17321/1/14284177
China's #1 played China's female #1 - Ke Jie played a few online games with Choi Jeong recently and Choi Jeong performed well against strong male players in Samsung Cup & LG Cup. Can Yu Zhiying also prove herself?

Lian Xiao Vs Xu Jiayang: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17337
Changqi Cup is conflicted in schedules with the Globis Cup U-20 tournament in Japan. Xu Jiayang was the winner of Globis Cup last year while he is in Changqi Cup this year.

Tu Xiaoyu Vs Xie Erhao: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17339
Tu Xiaoyu is another U-20 rising star. He also can not make it to Globis Cup because of the schedules. While the other three Globis Cup players Ding Hao (this year's CCTV Cup fast game winner), Chen Zijian, Wang Zejin do not have Changqi Cup tasks.

Jiang Weijie Vs Hu Yaoyu https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17342
The veteran Hu Yaoyu wrote some excellent Go blogs and game analysis, so I am very interested in watching his games and post game analysis.

First round results are updated above.

I seem to recall Ke Jie said some pretty critical things of Yu Zhiying after they played together in a pair go competition and she made lots of bad moves including the game losing blunder. So it would be embarrassing/inconsistent if he didn't beat her easily.

Edit: he did win, looked smooth to me.

Yea it was a bit embarrassing and unpleasant for Yu Zhiying in the Pair Go tournament last year. I heard she would team with Mi Yuting this year instead as she is now afraid of Ke Jie... This game looks like she still has some shadows and played a few slow moves in the mid game. There are some female's world championship next week hopefully we can see her best then.

I also follow the other games between world championships:

Tan Xiao Vs Chen Yaoye https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/room/17326/1/14297093

Yang Dingxin Vs Tang Weixing https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17341

It was said that the president of Ing Group Ing Ming-Hao passed away in Beijing last night. He still made a speech in the opening ceremony of the Changqi Cup 3 days ago. I remembered he also made speeches in the World Collegiate Tournament years ago. Chinese Weiqi Association said it was an unfortunate loss for us and we appreciate the Ing Family's (including Ing Ming-Hao's father Ing Chang-Ki) efforts to support and promote Weiqi business around the world. The players stood in silence to express mourning before the second round of Changqi Cup today. Source: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/gonews/detail/24581?type=1

I have updated a few game records above as it seems not updated on go4go yet.
Source: https://www.foxwq.com/qipu.html

I like this one between Mi Yuting and Liao Yuanhe: https://www.foxwq.com/qipu/newlist/id/2 ... 12951.html
Mi again shows great fighting spirits. If there is easier way to victory, he will definitely choose more complicated paths and capture a huge group.

Exciting game, but I think there is a mistake in the record. I can't understand why white would j19 if b12 was available, a ko threat order mistake? j19 in response to f8 make more sense and then white a13 as his threat after that.

Yes you are right, it's definately a recording mistake- when white atari a13, black would connect at B12, then white would play j19... white should have found another ko threat. Since Changqi Cup does not have byo-yomi, when the game approaches to the end, both players would play very fast, the human recorder could not follow up in time and easy to make order mistakes. That's why many Go fans think an electronic/machine recorder is necessary in tournaments.

Some players do not get used to the Ing rule, like Lee Sedol, he hasn't got Ing's Cup in his career even in his strongest time. I had a chance to watch him play Ing Cup semi-final right after the AlphaGo games. He did not seem very happy after his loss. Like Ke Jie, he did not breakthrough second round in Changqi Cup before this year.

Even in other tournaments with byo-yomi, as some human recorders are young kids or amateurs that do not have fine knowledge of Go, it is very common to see mistakes in kifu if you read it carefully... Game records (Kifu) on the other hand, are better managed in Japanese Go Association. In Japan, the human recorders are professional players (most are 1P young players) and they get well-paid as a recorder.

Seems like some of the games in the previous rounds have not been updated on Goratings... anyway, semi-finals will be played in Sydney in July, Australian Go fans will have a chance to see four world champions then.

Yang Dingxin Vs Ke Jie
Zhou Ruiyang Vs Shi Yue

Yes there's a clear mistake. I was hoping to get the record from another source. Since nothing became available for a few days, I will manually modify this game record and add to my collection - this is relatively easy to fix comparing to many much more difficult ones I had to fix over the years.

Great jobs for doing it over the years  the quality of recording should've been improved...
