I have just seen the 2022 prize-money table for Japan.

The most eye-catching entry was Ueno Asami at 5th place with almost 29 million yen (about US$220,000). And Fujisawa Rina was just below her.

Iyama Yuta (still only 33) was top with a little under $700,000, followed by Ichiriki Ryo, Shibano Toramiru then Kyo Kagen.

One feature of these tables in recent times, as here, is the almost total absence of Taiwanese players in the top ten - just Kyo here.

Taiwanese players now have a somewhat developed pro scene at home, so don't need to go to Japan. The only reason why the fancy food at Japanese title matches isn't enough to lure all Taiwanese would be pros over is because Taiwan is already one of the best culinary countries in the world !

Iyama has about three years left to win an international title!

I saw this list in January, when the promotions based on prize money were announced.

Is there any link where I can give another look? Just curiosity.

I was hoping to see a longer list, at least with the players who were promoted based on prize money.

I'd like to point out that Hirata Tomoya is there probably thanks to the Agon Cup, and that Yamashita Keigo, not a title holder, is 8th.
