'Move 7 is famous Shusaku's kosumi, which, Shusaku said, would not be a bad move no matter how Go theories develop' |

Because of 黒7, in the early episode where the class teacher says that the suggestion by Sai through Hikaru has become less popular due to komi, however it's still an exquisite move. This is the Shusaku's diagonal Sai suggested after all! |

As mentioned above, the giving of komi made the Shusaku kosumi appear slow so it lost a lot of favor in professional play, though it was still played occasionally. Interestingly, it seems that the Shusaku kosumi has been rehabilitated by the superhuman AI go programs. |

When I run 1000000 playouts on the position before the Shusaku kosumi with Japanese rules and 6.5 komi then the kosumi is quickly identified as the best move. Many moves are very good in this position but I didn't see the computer put them ahead of the kosumi except for a few brief moments. After 1000000 playouts the predicted variation is a bit wild. Take note of the second corner kosumi which in this case is also the top policy move. |

For what it is worth, Iyama played a Shusaku kosumi in the first game of the current Honinbo title match. |

Is it Shusaku kosumi like this? It didn't do Iyama any good this time, the Iyama group looked like an overwatered pandan somehow ![]() |

Answer 'White 1 makes me speechless. I cannot even describe this move. Please pay attention to Shuko sensei's intuition. (White 9)' Cho Hyeyeon 9p, former Korea Women's number 1 'white 4 is a capital move. Then look at the capping move (W6)!' Cho Hyeyeon 9p, former Korea Women's number 1 I wonder what AI thinks of Fujisawa Hideyuki's opening intuition? |
