  • The second Japanese to win an international title this year
  • The second Japanese to win a title in almost 20 years

I think the Japanese are getting more benefit than expected from the AI transition.

This should be her second international title actually, she won the international SENKO Cup for women in 2022. That was a much smaller tournament though, and 4 of the 8 participants there were Japanese, so it was almost a half-domestic title. This win was definitely more impressive. Japan has had a good year!
