Yamashita Keigo wins 4-2 against Iyama Yuta. He now holds the titles of Meijin and Honinbo. Results and the game records can be found on the Asahi Shinbun website: http://www.asahi.com/igo/ I'll make SGFs of the games later (unless someone else has them) but I don't have time now. |

I think it's great that they always show the lunch. http://www.asahi.com/igo/meijin/TKY201110270121.html |

Jing posted the final game and some photos in her article; Yamashita Keigo wins 36th Meijin, if you still want the game. I didn't expect Yamashita to win. Even after three losses I thought Iyama would be able to fight back... I'm probably reading too much into things, but I wonder whether we'll we see Yamashita breaking through at an international level now? Or perhaps it's something about Iyama's skill in faster paced games that makes him more competitive internationally? |

Iyama's career the last year has been one hell of a rollercoaster. He defends his Meijin, crashes out of the LG Cup against an out-of-form Lee Changho in 100 moves, gets third in the Fujitsu, then loses his Meijin title to Yamashita. At least he'll most likely win the Tengen against Yuki Satoshi. |
