Despite his dismal results in league play, Yuki Satoshi immediately turned around and qualified to reenter the Meijin League. He defeated Cho Sonjin by resignation in the last round of the preliminaries last week on Halloween.

The remaining two places in the Meijin League will be decided on Thursday this week. In the most interesting match, Ichiriki Ryo will face Ko Iso. If Ichiriki manages to win he will be the youngest player (at 16 years and 5 months) ever to make it into a league in Japan, eclipsing Iyama Yuta's 17 years and 10 months by more than a year. His opponent knows what it is like; Ko first qualified for the Meijin League 8 years ago as an 18-year old 4p.

Thanks for the information.
I met Ichiriki in Japan this year, he´s a really nice guy. Hope he wins this thursday. Are they broadcasting the game?

I don't believe any of the preliminaries are broadcast.

Last week Ichiriki lost to Ko by 3 1/2 points. Ko Iso and Ryu Shikun filled out the Meijin League table.
