To here is a basic joseki shape. Usual sequence, the next move will be a, b, or c My question is... I found this interesting variation in a pro game. Can anyone having a Japanese joseki dictionary, check out this variation for me? Ishida's dictionary won't have this variation I think, btw, but there should be newer ones. |

Hey lovelove. I looked in my copy of 21st century dictionary of basic joseki and found it. This variation is considered a bit of a special case when B wants to emphasize the top left. |

This is the orientation in my book, I was just not paying enough attention to fix the directions in my post. ![]() So top left in this diagram. ![]() But top right in yours. |
