In my lunch time game, my opponent (black) played move 111 on san-san in the following position. I thought he should have succeeded in getting a ko in the corner but he died. Was it possible for black to live or to rip white off for over-playing? |

Locally (4-4 plus 2 knight's moves) the 3-3 is dead but with bad aji, with that amount of outside thickness white can surely kill. http://senseis.xmp.net/?364463Enclosure33Invasion |

My sequence was right, then? What else could have happened? |

My go teacher taught me to play the ko shape in the corner (if appropriate) immedietly, and then leave it without starting the ko. Later in the game, your opponent might answer differently having thickness at his disposal. |
