i can offer a rough estimate of the tsumego series: vol 1 - ddk vol 2 - 10k-5k vol 3 - 5k-2k vol 4 - 2k - 1d vol 5 - 1d+ vol 6 - 2d+ Personally I've been through vol 1 to 4, and then again vol 1 to 3. First pass: vol 1 98% correct vol 2 92% correct vol 3 78% correct vol 4 69% correct vol 5 ? tried the first 40 problems but too many I did not know the shape. Second pass: vol 1 99% correct vol 2 97% correct vol 3 91% correct. It's a very good series of common situations and the volumes work their way up, building upon previous shapes, that get repeated in different forms. It was a great feeling to discover a long sequence that i 'saw' in one of my games a way to kill, which my opponent missed. It was the same sequence that I had done in this tsumego series. I'm around 1kyu and am confident i will finish this series one day. Hopefully finish vol 6 with at least 66% correct. I also have the tesuji series. Vol 1 and 4 seem rather easy, ddk-sdk. Vol 2 and 3 sdk level. Vol 5 and 6 around 2k - dan+ level |

Hello nasdaq, Thank you for your answer, I'm surprised the two series are so different in terms of level gap from vol 1 to 6 though! At what level did you pruchase them? |

Hi, I got them at 1kyu level. I think they are suitable for all levels, from ddk to mid/high dan. a ddk will find all but vols 1 tough going though. I think the tesuji books are more about learning all the different kinds of tesuji and endgame plays rather than ramping up through the difficulty levels. Although the last 2 tesuji volumes seem harder. |

I was wondering where you both were able to purchase your books. I thought about purchasing this series for myself but don't know where to look for purchasing. |

I got them through a friend in China. There's a shop selling them in Holland but they were too expensive compared to the chinese price(10 times). If you know a chinese speaker you can order them easily but be careful with sellers. |

Sorry to bump an old thread, but i'm looking for these books. The places referred to in this thread are no longer active. Does anyone know where I can get them? |

Old thread indeed but still useful info. You can find them on amazon.cn in kindle format. They are cheap, less than 2 euros each. I bought WEIQI 1000 PROBLEMS for kindle for about 2 euros too. |
