I got a new iTouch for Christmas, and one of the things I am interested in are some good Go apps. I've looked through this sub-forum a bit, but most of the threads I saw were talking about specific apps. I'm looking for a list/lists of suggestions of any kind - tsumego, joseki, Go servers, etc.

I like free ;) but I am willing to dish out a little money for a good app (already leaning towards picking up SmartGo).

So what are your favorites? Any other suggestions/comments/ideas?

Thanks.

Online playing schedule: KGS on Saturday I use to be online, but I can be if needed from 20-23 GMT+1
In my iPod Touch I have:

WBaduk to do the free problems they have (offline support added recently)
Goban, Sente and Nihon-Kiin's Free as virtual boards
Champion Go Crazy Stone to play 9x9 games (I have a 2nd gen iTouch, it's too slow to play quick 19x19 games)
GnuGo (removed from app store a long time ago)
Dragon Go Server to play in that server, although the web interface is good enough (turn based)
A shortcut to LittleGolem mobile version, to play there (turn based)
SmartGo Books, to read something (currently Sakata's Suji and Antisuji of Go)
Tsumego Master by the Nihon-Kiin, I bought the intermediate kyu problem package
if I had a newer iTouch (I can't upgrade from iOS 4.3, too old), I'd also have Yoo Chang's Tsumego (search for SGData in the app store). I have checked it in my iPad, there's a free version and problem packages

in my iPad I have (in addition to the previous, when available)
SmartGo Kifu: the best app overall
iGoban as a virtual board (one of the nicest boards all around)
Igowin HD: to play against the iPad
Crazy Stone: to play against the iPad
Wbaduk: to play online, problems are done in the iTouch (Koreans are strong!)
Tygem: to play online (Koreans are strong!)
Panda-Tetsuki: to play online (have not played with it yet)

Note: I have both Igowin HD and Crazy Stone. I must say that since both play different (very) from each other, this is not a redundancy. I like Igowin better to gauge if I have improved, and Crazy Stone to play hard 9x9 games. Both are excellent.

I'm always on the lookup for new apps for my iDevices :)

Edit: forgot two online playing apps for the iPad

I just have smart go pro on my itouch. I finished all the problems a while ago and have only played the program a few times, but the game database is amazing. I'm currently working my way through the games of Takemiya Masaki, and I've only just got up to 1985!

Get tetsuki (free), and Smart Go Pro. All other apps are secondary and are dimmed by the glory of these two apps.

Developers usually put keywords like "igo", "baduk", and "weiqi" for searching the app store, so search for those keywords to try out the other go apps. But I think you'll probably end up concluding that tetsuki and smart go pro are the best. Smart Go Pro is pricy, but it is worth buying.

While you are looking for stuff, another novelty is "GameClock Tournament", which you can find here:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gamecloc ... 34700?mt=8

It's nice to use for a game clock if you are playing someone in person. It supports various timing mechanisms like Fischer and Byo-yomi.

Finally, the next thing you should do is buy an iPad. The iPod touch is great and quite portable (I have one, too). But imagine the experience of playing go on an actual board!

@Stable Yes, Panda-Tetsuki is an official pandanet app. "Tetsuki" is an old version of this app.

@ schultz - in addition to the apps mentioned above I suggest you get Master of Go, MagicBadukGo, GoGrinder, and Yoo Changhyuk's app as a very good apps for tsumego, tesuji and endgame practice.  Also there are a lot of iOS apps listed on SenseisLibrary.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I'll be looking into a lot of these - should be fun! :)

Finally have a reason to use up the two different iTunes gift cards I've had sitting around forever!

Have you guys played real games on your iPhone/iTouch? How well does it work?

Panda-Tetsuki - very good app for playing on IGS, but could be a problem with players, I have always a problem to play a game there with time longer than 10 minutes. WBaduk is a good option too - but I'm playing my games there on the iPad mostly, so I can't tell much about iTouch version. There is also goshrine.com (for newbies mostly) you can play via safari or other web browser(I strongly recommend iCabMobile - fullscreen, download manager, uploading files to dropbox or forums/websites), you can also play on all turn based servers like OGS, DGS, LittleGolem. Boardz app (in the AppStore) is also a nice turn based server but it is not free app.

I play a lot in DGS and littlegolem with my iTouch. If you don't mind turn based (I guess you can get used to it once you have 30 running games...), it's very good for it. But mostly... Tsumego!
