For anyone who has seen a crash:

You can really help me out a lot by sending me the crash dump. After you sync your
device, the dumps should be in the following location:

* Mac OS X : ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>
* Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/<DEVICE_NAME>
* Windows Vista: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

The files will end with .crash. If you can enter a bug report at the link below and attach any .crash files you have,
it will be much easier for me to find the problem.

Has anyone but grillapa installed Guan Zi Pu? I haven't had any trouble with it.
I'm trying to get an idea of where his problem is coming from.

grillapa, when you had the crash, had the problem set been completely unpacked?
Did the add collection screen say complete before you tried to select the set?
You shouldn't be able to leave the screen until it's done, but maybe it's possible.
Do you remember exactly what you did before the crash? Was it right when you tapped
the collection to choose it?

I am planning to add true iPad support, but I'm going to fix bugs, and there are some other
features I would like to add first. The big one is keeping a history for the problem sets -
How many problems were correct each time it was solved. Also, I'm teaching three courses
this semester (teaching is my second job), so it probably won't happen until around the end
of the year.

Thank you so much for taking this project on, for me this is a very important app to be able to load your own problem sets (I had hoped smartgo kifu would have had this feature by now). I haven't downloaded it yet but will do so this weekend. I will definitely look forward to the iPad application of it down the road.

So far so good. I've been able to work a number of problems. However, when I tried to load the problem set referenced above I got an error. Ideas?

I agree with this. The "..." is non-intuitive.

Is it me, or is the magnifier a bit off? When I try to click on a place to play, the magnifying glass shows up slightly below where I thought I clicked.

I find myself having to try to look around my finger (Fat Fingers???) to see the detail. This happens left and right, not just up and down for me.

RazorBrain, do you remember what the error message was?

The magnifier should appear above your finger, and it has a stone in the center that
shows where you're placing the stone. If you get close to the top of the screen it
moves to the left or right so you can still see it.

The request timed out.

The magnifier seems to work fine when I'm playing a stone near the bottom. Understandably, the issue crops up when a stone is played at the top of the screen where there is no room for the magnifier there. It seems like it can't make up it's mind between left and right. So, as I'm trying to adjust my finger to either see the magnified area or if I'm still zeroing in on where I want to play the magnifier tends to jump around left to right or the reverse.

Thanks!

Request timed out means that it couldn't download the problems successfully.
If you just try again, it will probably work.

When you see the magnifier flipping back and forth, are you trying to play a stone
right in the center near the top? If you're right in the middle, moving one pixel
to the left or right will cause it to switch to the other side. I'll have to think
of something to do about this.

The import seemed to work fine, it said complete and showed up in the list of problem collections. The crash happened when i tried to enter it. I can run the program again now after reinstalling it. I tried to load Guan Zi Pu again just to make sure, and it failed this time too. I'll try to send you the crash dumps

I would still really like to see the magnifying glass fixed. I use other iphone go apps, such as SmartGo Pro, for example, without any problems.

But with this gogrinder app, whenever I click on an intersection, the magnifying glass shows up two intersections BELOW where I clicked. This happens consistently, and not just around the edges. It happens even in the center of the board. It's really annoying.

I experience the same issue.

I found and fixed a crash - I think it's the one Grillapa is seeing.
I'm ready to release the next version - added a high score feature like
the Java version, and cleaned up a bunch of bugs and minor annoyances.
The magnifier moves around smoothly now, so that's a lot nicer.

I don't think I'm seeing the magnifier issue, but I want to fix it before
doing an update. Let me make sure I understand.

When you touch the board, and the magnifier comes up, the stone in the magnifier
that you're about to play shows up too low on the board? Is that right?
So when you play the stone, it winds up where the magnifier shows it, but you have
to move up first?

What board size were you seeing this on? Does it happen on every problem,
or only sometimes?

Thanks again for your work on this.

This shows up in all sets I've tried so far, including "Basic Tsumego."
Your description seems right: When I touch the screen where I want to place the stone, the magnifier comes up, but is focused on a different spot (I think it is always lower). I then move it around to figure out where it is. When I play the stone, it goes to the spot shown in the magnifier.

This is the same as what I see. And I concur: Thanks for all of your work on this.

What OS are you seeing the problem on?
I'm running on 4.0 on an iPod Touch, and I tried it last
night on a friend's iPhone with 4.0. Neither one shows the
problem.

Can you take a picture of the issue maybe?
