Game 20 (NZ rules, 7 komi) took the lower-side fight in a different direction. We have a new shortest game in the thread (166 moves). White slays black's dragon and wins by 54-ish points. https://online-go.com/demo/view/495091 .sgf:

After some twists and turns, game 21 (NZ rules, 7 komi) ended up as our fourth tie. That brings our current tally to 6 black wins, 4 ties, 11 white wins. https://online-go.com/demo/view/497589 .sgf:

Game 22 (NZ rules, 7 komi) was another breathtaking game (split off from game 18 like the three previous ones). At one point, it looks like white is going to get four corners with black building a center moyo. A bit later, it looks like there's going to be a huge trade in which each side sacrifices a large group. In the end, there are seven live groups on the board and white wins by four points or so. 224 out of 256 moves received more than 100,000 playouts. https://online-go.com/demo/view/499554 .sgf:

I split off game 23 (NZ rules, 7 komi) at move 36 of game 8, which saw black winning by 8 points or so. Game 23 turned into another giant center fight, but in a completely different direction, and became our fifth tie. This time I played out every move to the end. https://online-go.com/demo/view/500111 .sgf:

Game 24 (NZ rules, 7 komi) ends up with huge territories on both sides. For the longest time it looked like a tie, but white was one ko threat ahead in the endgame ko and won by 2 points. https://online-go.com/demo/view/501603 .sgf:

Game 25 (NZ rules, 7 komi) seems to be mostly about aggressively reducing each other. Black wins by 2 or 4 points. https://online-go.com/review/504154 .sgf:

Game 26 (NZ rules, 7 komi) ends up with absolutely enormous territories on both sides. Black's upper-right is worth more than 60 points, while white's lower side is worth more than 70 points. Of course it's a close game, anyway, and black wins by 2 points. https://online-go.com/review/507361 .sgf:

Game 27 (NZ rules, 7 komi) was another close call that looked like it could end up as a tie, but black won by 2 points. Our current tally is 9 black wins, 5 ties, 13 white wins. https://online-go.com/demo/view/510251 .sgf:

Game 28 (NZ rules, 7 komi) sees more huge territories - white's lower side is worth more than 65 points. This game ended up as our sixth tie. https://online-go.com/demo/view/512903 .sgf:

Game 29 (NZ rules, 7 komi) is our new shortest game so far. After white plays N15 at move 100, black's winrate crashes from around 34 % (white by ~ 2 points) to around 8 % (white by ~ 8 points) and never recovers. Not sure exactly what it was that KataGo "missed" before move 100, but in the end white wins by 12 or 14 points. https://online-go.com/demo/view/514146 .sgf:

Game 30 (NZ rules, 7 komi) sees a similar crash. After white plays G4 at move 172, black's winrate drops from around 54 % (even score) to around 27 % (white by ~ 12 points). In the end, white wins by at least 38 points. This game includes a high playout variation at move 32 that I couldn't keep from displaying as the main variation. https://online-go.com/demo/view/515005 .sgf:

Game 31 (NZ rules, 7 komi) is the eleventh and last game continued from game 1, move 14, white D12 (the attach to black's pincer). It was a fitting end for the series in that it saw black mirroring that same position in the opposite corner. White wins by at least 10 points. https://online-go.com/demo/view/515811 .sgf:

After an unusual upper-left joseki that I intend to explore some further, game 32 (NZ rules, 7 komi) sees white trying to live Cho-Chihun-style in the center. Very fascinating fighting going on. White wins by at least 6 points. https://online-go.com/demo/view/517203 .sgf:

Game 33 (NZ rules, 7 komi) turns into a drawn-out complicated ko fight and astonishingly (?) ends as a tie. Played out to the last move. https://online-go.com/demo/view/520371 .sgf:

Game 34 (NZ rules, 7 komi) was (at least on the surface level) very peaceful. After 206 moves, white is firmly ahead by 2 points. https://online-go.com/review/524693 .sgf:

Game 35 (NZ rules, 7 komi) turned into one of the most complicated-looking center fights we've seen so far, even though it settles quite peacefully as a tie. Split off from game 19. https://online-go.com/review/526027 .sgf:

Game 36 (NZ rules, 7 komi) had another absolutely fascinating opening, a complicated fighting midgame, and a beautiful endgame that involved a ko that was fought for 73 moves. White wins by 2 points. https://online-go.com/review/528629 .sgf:

Game 37 (NZ rules, 7 komi) IMO has the most bewildering, alien early midgame we've seen so far. Moves 15 - 40 or so are straight-up incomprehensible to this 11k. Of course, everything resolves in a beautiful endgame and whaddya know, it's our ninth tie (played out to the last move). Our current tally: 9 black wins, 9 ties, 19 white wins. Next up: Cross fuseki! https://online-go.com/review/534048 .sgf file:

Game 38 (NZ rules, 7 komi) looked relatively human (or at least understandable to humans) for the first 40 moves or so. White wins by 2 points. https://online-go.com/review/540073 .sgf file:

Kata got mad at me for calling the previous game understandable by humans. Game 39 (NZ rules, 7 komi) is another absolutely alien-like game that involves incredible trades resulting in large territories on both sides and a breathtaking tie. Don't sleep on this one. https://online-go.com/review/543331 .sgf file:
