Hello, TsumegoDS is a new go software for... Yes, you guessed it, nintendo DS Actually you can play a game on the same DS (it include a clock and you can save it, so it can be used to record your RL games), replay games (you can browse variations and read commentary), and do tsumego (there is a small collection from Gokyo Shumyo ) The application is still in developpement, but I think it's useable Interface is not as pretty as DSgf It's open-source and avaiable here : https://sourceforge.net/projects/tsumegods/ Every comment is welcome ![]() Tryss |

It is not at all obvious to me how to get such a program to run on a Nintendo DS. ![]() |

Yes, you need a flash cartridge for it, like the above mentioned R4. Basically, it looks like a game cartridge with either built-in memory or a MicroSD slot. Using the computer, you can put data on it and then stick it into the Nintendo. On the cartridge, there is also firmware which frequently breaks when Nintendo updates the DS firmware, but it can easily be updated as well (it's as simple as downloading the files and copying them on the memory card.) Software like the tsumego program is called "homebrew". More commonly, flash cartridges are used to run pirated games (or to run copies of your originals for convenience and fit 50+ games on one cart), but homebrew is perfectly legal. |
