Just found out a new go server is being developed. Looks like a good idea as long as people go into the server. What seems to me to be the difficulty of creating a new go server is that people are always reluctant to switch servers because they want to be in the most populated servers. Any thoughts? I think people aren't so dead set that they won't move to try a new server it it's easy to use. |

Any thoughts? I had already presented an idea to get the server more populated, but it seems the developers have their own ideas which they want to keep secret for the time being. |

Although one could just say it's another overambitious project, their goal of putting everything related to Go in one place makes sense and would indeed be 'historic.' I wonder if their rewards for donating, or Candy, will make a big difference. They also have an idea suggestion page with a 'thumbs-up'-like system. I wish them all the success in the world but hope they will keep listening if they ever get where they plan to go. |

I have lots of other ideas for a go server but if i have to pay $100 to get every idea implemented i would be broke. 1 Also other board sizes, just any size you want (i like 7x7) 2 gtp interface (so bots can also join in the fun) 3 IGS interface (so i can play it via smartgo) 4 linking to joseki databases (on line and private off line databases) 5 linking to sensei's library (go tern get transformed to links to sensei's) 6 copy diagrams to ascii Turnbased go ideas: 7 also turnbased go, or very long timings (months / weeks) with very long extra time(days) 8 Also sgf download 9 Also sgf upload (that you can put your future moves allready in the system |

Actually the developer of the server already announced it a few days earlier in another thread. Maybe if you have good ideas, you should add to that thread. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4447 |
