Excellent. I've got seven games going there now.

Any thoughts on creating a high resolution icon? The current one looks sorta... fuzzy. :)

I know this will sound dumb, but what's the virtue of a DGS app vs simply playing on the website on a browser? I play mine mostly on the puny browser on my kindle fire.

I have had a task to improve the board graphics on my to do list for several months. Functional issues always trump appearance issues and I have had some personal items reducing my time to work on it this spring.

There are no dumb questions only lack of knowledge which may be fixed by asking the question :)

Originally I wrote anDGS because I found it intolerable to play using a browser on the small screen of my (not the smallest phone out there) original droid phone. If you find that your tablet is big enough to make playing via a browser comfortable, then it may be better to consolidate to that one interface. But so far I have found the app better for making moves and sometimes if I am running it on my desktop, I slightly prefer the app to the web interface (but then I am the developer :) )

Some other advantages that come to mind:
The app can load and display a game faster than a browser can load the web page as the app directly gets the sgf and the browser gets many more bytes of data from the server by getting HTML and graphics.

The app can open the game you are looking at in an editor where you can do anything the editor supports including saving a copy locally. When you exit the editor you are right back in the game to make your next move.

Since the app mostly uses an interface that is much more efficient than HTML, playing on the app will reduce the load on the server.

The app contains an integrated notifier. If you touch the notification message, the app goes directly to the server to the first game.

All this makes it much easier to make moves throughout the day no matter where you are if you have a cell signal. :) When I am working and I need a couple of minute mind break, I check my phone for moves on DGS :-))

By the way, some new client interfaces are starting to roll out on the DGS development server, so I am planing to start work on those as well. I plan to make the app as full featured as possible so that you need the browser less.

Also, you can side load the app to your kindle fire. Go to my website with your fire, download the app with your web browser, open it with a file browser and you will be prompted to Install it.

I have it installed on my Kindle now. I haven't used it much (yet) but once I figure out how to load sgf's into it I will be using to study problems and review my games even if I continue to use the browser-based DGS for games.

Would it be possible to show numbers and letters for the rows in the sgf editor? I often jot down "d12" or some similar locational note for a move I want to remember. And how about showing move numbers?

Thanks for the opportunity to input about your app. :)
