In gokifu.com there's an option that allows you to copy the SGF file. But I was interested in being able to copy only the desired board position. It doesn't do this. Instead the option only copies the entire game to the clipboard so after pasting it to the SGF editor...you have to find the position again before utilizing the program of choice to play new games at that point. So far the only Go playing program I have that does this is Drago for Windows and Many Faces of Go. There is no equivalent for the iPad yet...although I have high hopes EasyGo can offer this...or maybe someday...IgoWin HD.

Curiously the only Go program that I know of that can successfully copy Go fragments of games correctly is GoHome, a German SGF editor. I'm very surprised to see that neither Dariush, PandaGo, giGo, Kombilo don't offer this.

For iOS, the just released version of EasyGo(V1.2) can create problem from the current game position, that is , you can crop part of the current board to create a new game. Is that what you want?

And I can't understand some part of your message. You first stated that the ONLY programs are drago and MFOG, and then mentioned GoHome is the only program...

I have that update on my iPad right now. I'm referring to using Windows desktop applications of Go. Currently, as far as I know of, the only one that copies Go game fragments correctly is GoHome, the German SGF editor.

After re-read your message, I understood now. You first stated that the ONLY programs are drago and MFOG, you actually mean the go playing program that can continue to play from a specific position of an existing sgf file.

Will EasyGo get the ability to play SGF game fragments? That would be awesome.

No plan yet. First I need to focus on problem practice, game edit/replay.

And even I want to add the go playing capability, I have to use some open source go playing engine which allow use in commercial programs.

I hope Igowin HD or Crazy Stone could add the function you want. Or you could ask Little Go to implement this. Little Go is a free iOS go playing program based on fuego.

I think iPad2/3's speed is about 5-10 times slower than desktop/laptop, so it's okay to play with AI on iPad, but If you want to study how to play at a specific board position. I'd like to suggest that you do this in a powerful program (such as MFOG) on a PC, or ask other players for help.

I have Little Go, too! But the strange thing about Little Go is...you can play a game of Go...but once the game s over - you can't replay the game on the iPad! Believe me I've tried. It allows playing but no replay button to review the game. Oh...another thing, Little Go only allows iTunes file sharing. That's a pain in the butt. I have to connect my iPad to my computer and select File Sharing from iTunes to get the game, and then transfer it to the computer. From there I have to use Drago to edit the game statistics, or even use Drago to play out the game fragment. MFOG is too expensive...but the irony is it's sister program Igowin HD costs a fraction of the main program and does great on the iPad. Your program is already getting close to perfection and it's only in its first iteration. How about giving it the ability to copy game fragments only to SGF format? That would be great.

What do you mean? what's the difference between create problem function(crop the current board position to form a new game) of EasyGo and "copy game fragments"?

Obviously Little Go supports SGF output, then adding Open In(handle the file to other app) and email support are very easy in iOS, Please just ask the author of Little Go for these two features.

How do I do this?! I didn't understand what that function meant. Can I copy SGF game fragments using this feature?

While edit a game, you can create a problem by tap the action button(bottom right) and select "create problem", then drag the red handle to adjust the frame, then tap done button. The newly created problem will be opened automatically, then tap edit button and select "show sgf source", then tap copy button.

By the way, with L19 sgf or sgf-problem tag, you can easily post your newly created problem/game position here.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try this. One thing I'd love to see in Easy Go...tab support. Opening multiple games in tabs. This would be great so I wouldn't have to constantly open one game after another to edit.

In game edit mode, you could two finger swipe left/right to switch between recently opened games.(up to 5 games). Technically, there is only one game opened concurrently, just current move position restored when open again.
For true tab support, there will be a lot of codes to modify, so very low priority.
