I have a partial set of glass Go stones from Japan which I would really like to fill out, but I've been having trouble finding stones that match. They are 22mm, but only about 6mm thick. Double convex, but not with the flying-saucer shape they all seem to be now--they are more like slightly pudgy coins.

The thing is, they came in these nice but very small bowls, and every other stone I've tried in them overflows the bowls. (Even Yunzi single-convex size 3 are too big, and I originally bought this old set of stones meaning to use the bowls for them.)

There is a set on Ebay that looks like they might be the same (they certainly have all the impurities, air bubbles and flaws my stones have) but the guy hasn't responded to a question about thickness, and I hesitate to pay the price he is asking, even if it wasn't possibly going to be be a THIRD set of stones too big for these bowls.

Any idea where to find similar stones at a reasonable price?

(Also, any suggestions on bowls that would fit those #3 yunzi stones nicely? Not too big or too small?)

The pictures on the eBay site don't show the profile very well. Can you post better pics of what you are trying to match?

They actually vary in thickness a bit, as if the remains of several different sets were mixed together. There were even three each of actual slate and shell mixed in.

I see what you mean by "pudgy coins." :D

I thought my old set might work but they are the flying saucer shape. 20mm by 6.5mm.

My new single 22mm convex stones took 25% more space in my old bowls than the old stones - so much I was afraid they wouldn't all fit.
