Are there glass or Yunzi stones at 9.5mm-10mm with the same profile as Ing stones? The Ing stones are biconvex with a slightly flattened top and bottom. They don't wobble anywhere near as much as the 10mm Korean glass stones I have (aka "Pheonix stones").

Hi msgreg, many years ago I saw a very high-end Japanese glass stone set (maybe size 39 or more),
with the same profile as the ING stones. I don't know where in Japan they sell a product like it,
but I assume it's quite expensive (for a glass set). For the money, and regular "coffee shop" events,
I think the ING stones are the best (much better than the generic Japanese or Korean 10 mm glass stones.)

I have a set of 9mm Japanese glass stones that I obtained from ye olde Ishi Press back in the early 1980s. It was the thickest set they offered at the time. Cost me US$60.00. I think someone must still make them and stock them. But they're going to be expensive.

However, the profile of my old stones is perfectly symmetrical; there is no flat spot that would prevent wobbling. That is not a feature I would seek in a go stone and I don't think Japanese stones are made like that. Never seen one but Japanese glass stones are rare these days because they are so expensive. Most US game shops only stock the far less expensive Chinese and Korean ceramic stones.
