Strange. I cannot load the KGS applet either (it tells me "error in loading" or something), but the Java Web Start app runs without any problems!

uninstall kgs via the control panel (if youre using windows, which im guessing you are)

then go reinstall it and it should work fine. i often get this when a new version comes out. my netbook which runs xp then breaks something which prevents cgoban from starting and i gotta reinstall.

At 12:145 PDT, it looks like it is down. The rectangle that usually requests login info just stays blank.

Sorry all, that was my fault. It's fixed now, the applet was broken. For the long version read on...

I wanted to add the "human only" tournament option, which meant upgrading the tournament app. I try to never upgrade just part of the system, but in this case it was such a tiny change, what can go wrong? So I upgraded the TD. Oh, but then after Sweety tried uploading a "human only" tournament, it failed, because you first upload to the web app, which then forwards the tournament description to the TD. So I upgrade the web app...all seems fine, I go to sleep.

Well, of course, the web app also has a link to the applet, and the version numbers didn't match, so...no applet. Sweety texted me about this on Saturday early afternoon, but I was out with my family and couldn't get to a computer until Saturday evening. Then it was easy to see what had gone wrong and to fix it.

Sorry everybody.

Thanks for fixing it.

And no appology is needed; when KGS is free, we have no standing to complain.

Hey - I pay for KGS...but I see no cause for complaint.
