Hi! : )

Since Panda-glgo has a very neat feature to customize your board, you can easily achieve a nice playing environment like on this picture:

However in Cgoban it seems ridiculously difficult to change anything except sounds. I spend almost one day investigating cgoban.jar file, and from hour to hour there was no progress whatsoever.

I would really appreciate it if you have some tips for me, about changing background and board texture. : )

I know that it is possible, because one year ago one guy showed me his cgoban version when instead of normal stones there were stones with smileys.

The screenshot is gorgeous!

This one has been highest on my KGS wishlist for years. Maybe once the HTML interface is available, it will get a lot easier to pull something off?

Unfortunately, the html interface will not correct the serious flaws on KGS that drove me to find a new server to play on.

Are they really going to make new version in html5/css3/javaScript?
That would be awesome! However I don't believe it. I download Cgoban after 3 years and it looks exactly the same. The one thing that changed was new client for android, and they gave high price product with minimal functionality. How annoying. : )

I think I will stick with IGS for the time being, or find some java programers that will help me turn cgoban.jar into light and beautiful standalone html5 KGS client. : )

I think KGS is going to have the old "classic" board coming back (that's a grey/black & white) one.
Not sure about the addition of other textures.

Dfunkt, was your post really necessary?

is there any way to join development team? ^.^

What about making a contest in deviant art?
For 500$ in a couple of months you will have the most amazing UI possible. : )

I'd be shocked if you couldn't find someone in the KGS community with the correct skills and happy to do it for free or for a few months of KGS+ or whatever.
