Okay, I think it's time to boot and replace Phelan (assuming the rest of youse is still interested in finishing)

If no one else does it, I will be willing to. I've fallen to 5k on KGS due to massive inactivity. If a 6k comes he should play though. I've also read all the comments in this thread...

We'll wait to see if everyone is onboard with this. I need some time to think about this next move, it seems quite difficult.

Are the correction numbers correct? I notice Black wasn't incremented in the last move, is that right?
Debated between this and the G10 cap. Still not sure which is better. I'm not so good at these sedentary situations, really hope a fight breaks out soon. My judgement of the relative value of moves isn't really very sharp unless there are clearly urgent moves on the board.

My feeling is that we are slightly behind because we got those extra stones to worry about without any attack on either black group to show for it (I also feel that jumping in to that 3 space gap was too early). I wonder if the honte thing to do is to play something around that area. However, I think this approach is also very big, and things if destabilize a little it plays more to my strengths.

Its Marcus' turn, I believe? These Malkovich games tend to drag on easily, lets move quickly if we can.

I'm not sure how well shaddy will be able to keep up with this, as he's currently studying with Feng Yun 9p in China.

That's exciting! But he posted in the thread just a few days ago, so I don't think he's going to drop out. And no matter how busy he is, I doubt it will make him slower than Violence.

He hasn't been on since he left for China. Just giving a little bit of a warning that he might be a bit flaky for a while.

I hate being submissive, but I think we have to. Thinking ahead... gosh, I really want C17, but I guess it's verboten. I figure with all four corners W will really have to kill E10 (or get an improbably large center) to win. My general strategic thinking at this point in the game goes like this: "can I lean on the second weakest group for three or four turns and then start trying to kill the weakest group?" So I keep looking at J5 (the crutch) and P10 (the victim), and it doesn't seem all that likely. Let's say I played K7... the threat is very weak. I can't realistically cut J5 from G8, although I might be able to get G10 in sente. And even if W replies to K8, there's no real follow-up leaning to be done (ideally, you want to lean somewhere where the opponent has to keep playing and playing to make his move consistent), so we don't have a lot of central strength, which means the group is going to live easily. And that means that our most likely gain from the attack is stones on the 12th row, chasing W. And that looks pretty useless to me, except maybe as a springboard to invade at M17. Maybe I should try to get M12 and L12, and then let W decide which side he wants to defend...?

Really, it doesn't look to me like there are a ton of points to be had on this board. I want C17.

Maybe I can start with G6; if he defends below, I get G10 in sente and might make some territory on the side, if he moves G8 out I can attack below.
