Most of the time when I challenge a player, I get a little popup that says the player wants time 60-60. What does that mean? I have tried resetting the time of the match and requesting again in every way I can think of, but I still get the message, and the game request is never answered. I want to play more on IGS, but I can't seem to ever get any games there.

I have no problems getting serious games on IGS.
You just have to be patient, one of the first things we learn from Go.

What client are you using?

Generally I just automatch with 1 min + 25 moves in 10 minutes on the android client, and it's pretty easy to get going.

I am using GoPanda2.

I am not sure if my challenges are even getting through. When I challenge someone there is a little popup that says "challenging 'username'" and has one of those waiting or loading circles. Most of the time right below that popup is another popup that says "Player Wants Time 60-60" which also has the loading circle. These popups never seem to time out or give any indication that my challenge was rejected if it was.

I have been able to get a couple matches, but never when I get the 60-60 message. I haven't really used IGS since I firs started playing go, so my rank there is still 9k. I would really like to get it up to date, and I am a little annoyed with KGS right now, so I think I will play a lot more on IGS and Tygem. I also found an automatch feature on the GoPanda homescreen, but the game I had there was one of the worst go experiences I have had. Rant is below.

So As I said, my rank on IGS is 9k. My first match back on the server was an even game against another 9k. I won by 150 points. In this automatch I was put up against a Korean 12k, so I gave him 4 stones. Not only did he seem like an extreme sandbagger (I think he was a stone or two weaker than my true strength), but he consistently ridiculed and mocked my play. In the end, I had to resign because I couldn't overcome the handicap. Add to that a huge bad-beat I took in poker the same afternoon, and I was fuming for a good part of the day. I had too go grocery shopping to calm down. It is hard to be annoyed at vegetables.

Anyway, the default IGS time is a little short for me. at times that fast I pretty regularly throw a game with one awful move. If I could get matches easier though it would be worth it.

This is what the message looks like.

I haven't used this client yet, but I suggested just clicking Home->Find opponent-> and put the settings you want. That is the equivalent of what I do on the Android or Japanese pc client.

So nobody can answer the question "what does 60-60 time mean?" I can't either.

AFAIK IGS uses Canadian time, so a typical time setting would be 1 + 10/25, meaning one minute main time plus 10 minutes for each contingent of 25 stones. 60-60 makes no sense to me. Why don't you just try playing with that setting, and see what happens :)

Another possibility would be for you to choose the time settings you want in the automatch dialog.

I have this problem too, and the weird thing is there doesn't seem to be a 60-60 time setting.

Another idea would be to use the bug report function in GoPanda2 - that way we might at least find out what this 60 - 60 business is all about...

It's not related to the client you use. It's a response from IGS to the nmatch command. I don't know what it means either but it sure is frustrating.

Back in 2017 I raised this with Pandanet support (international_division@pandanet.co.jp) and the response was
Quote:
It seems you are not using our official client.
We have two official clients, GoPanda2 and Pandanet (Go).
http://pandanet-igs.com/communities/pandanet/49

Please play on our official client.

Are people still suffering this 60-60 message with GoPanda2 ?

It should mean that the challenge was automatically declined because the other player only wants to play with 1 minute of main time. You can set game conditions in Panda-Egg and maybe some other clients which then result in challenges being declined on your behalf by the server. See the screenshot.
