Post subject:  API, custom tournaments, admins etc

Hi all! I have several questions about IGS:
1. Is there any api?
2. How can I create custom tournaments or auto check the results?
3. I found out socialplaza holds some game info, there are even some tournament groups but I couldn't create a new one. Is it possible?
4. All these questions were sent via pandanet form but no reply. Are there any admins or who is working on igs?

I believe Benjamin Teuber (German 6d and fun guy with a guitar) works for IGS as a developer making their new GoPanda2 client so maybe he could help or point you to someone who can. Also Erik Ouchterlony from Sweden is involved.

IGS was developed quite a long time ago, and secretly runs via telnet. All IGS clients are really just frontends to that interface. This will hopefully answer your related questions: http://www.pandanet.co.jp/English/sintro1.html

To be pedantic on a couple points... IGS has changed their interface over time like I'm sure most servers have. IGS doesn't run on telnet. You can technically play on telnet relatively easily, since all the communication can be made human readable. That is not true on other servers.
